Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of typical GOM offshore equipment and controls vendors;
  • Experience designing and implementing changes to control and safety systems offshore, including design, vendor engagement, integration testing, and management of change;
  • Prior experience in supporting offshore commissioning through successful startup preferred;
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot issues with I&C equipment arising during operations and maintenance activities;
  • Ability to support tuning / setting of control loops to optimize performance from existing facilities;
  • Experience in functional safety from risk assessment through design into ongoing operation, maintenance & testing;
  • Experience optimizing testing maintenance & testing of offshore I&C equipment;
  • Understanding of key aspects of life extension for I&C equipment and applying best practice to allow for safe and efficient handover to new / replacement systems where required;

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in related technical role and minimum 5 years’ experience in upstream offshore;
  • Prior experience within offshore operations organization is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum) from an accredited college or university in related engineering discipline required; 
  • Ability to work in a team environment and interface well with offshore employees and remote central engineering support teams;
  • Acute problem-solving skills;
  • Strong HSSE mindset;
  • Be willing and able to travel offshore as required.
